Taghrid G. Hassan, Esq. has been practicing law for nearly 20 years. She has a passion for guiding families through the difficult process of divorce and separation to promote harmonious family relationships. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator and has been appointed as guardian ad litem by the court in family and domestic violence cases.
Ms. Hassan is admitted to practice law in Florida, New York and New Jersey, as well as US District Court of New Jersey and the Southern District of Florida. Ms. Hassan received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York.

Child custody is comprised of two parts: s parental responsibility (how decisions pertaining to your child’s health, education and welfare are made) and timesharing (how much time you spend with your child). Whether it is a divorce or a paternity action, if there is a minor child, their must be a parenting plan submitted to the court which includes how decisions about your child will be made, parental timesharing and how expenses for the child will be shared.
Child Support is governed by Florida Statute 61.30 which considers the parent’s incomes, the timesharing schedule, health insurance expenses, child care expenses and certain deductions.
